The Ukrainian delegation to France is headed by Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Gavrilyuk, the department said.
The Ukrainian side announced in advance that the visit of Defense Minister Rustem Umerov to France may be postponed. The Ministry of Defense announced this on Thursday, January 18.
“It was announced in advance about the participation of the Minister of Defense that the visit may be postponed due to the fact that yesterday the Minister of Defense participated in the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief,” the statement said.
It is indicated that Umerov is participating in the Artillery Coalition’s opening event in Paris remotely via video link. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian delegation is headed by Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Gavrilyuk.
Also, teams from the Ukrainian and French military ministries are working on a new date for the visit.
Earlier on Thursday, Le Monde newspaper reported that Umerov had canceled a planned visit to France, allegedly due to security concerns.
Earlier it became known that France will produce 78 Caesar self-propelled artillery mounts for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
