The new Polish government looks at all issues related to Ukraine with a new look, noted Radoslaw Sikorski.
Poland’s new government is exploring opportunities to increase production of ammunition and military equipment while crafting a new aid package for Ukraine. Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said this at a forum in Davos, Reuters reported on Wednesday, January 17.
“We are looking at all issues related to Ukraine with a new look. We are studying what opportunities we have to produce more ammunition and ammunition, as well as what we still have in our warehouses,” he said.
According to Sikorski, Poland is convincing its allies that the cost of deterring Russia if it invades Ukraine is greater than the cost of giving Kyiv the weapons to effectively defend against Kremlin aggression.
Sikorski acknowledged that Ukraine and Poland must continue to work to solve the problems, welcoming an agreement between his government and carriers to suspend the blockade on the border with Ukraine.
“Poland should not be the country that bears the main burden of the costs of unity in Ukraine on behalf of the entire European Union… These costs are unavoidable, we accept them, but they should be fairer,” he added.
We remind you that on December 22, Radoslaw Sikorski visited Kyiv and met with President Vladimir Zelensky. This is his first trip as head of the Polish Foreign Ministry.
And the day before, Zelensky met with Polish President Andrzej Duda in Davos. Duda assured that Poland’s policy in Ukraine “will be stable, it will be a policy of support at all times.”
