Ukraine will not continue with a “sheer defense” front, because it cannot afford to lose territories due to inaction.
Vadim Skibitsky, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, ruled out the transition of the Armed Forces to a “deep defense”, because the Russians will try to take advantage of it. The major general announced this in a briefing in Davos, Switzerland on Wednesday, January 17.
“Nobody is talking now about a ‘shell defense’, much less a ceasefire. Because the Russian Federation will try to use any ceasefire to improve the tactical situation and gain more ability to return or open new direction,” he said.
The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate emphasized that even if the weather conditions are difficult, the military operation will continue.
“We simply do not allow ourselves to lose our territory due to inaction,” Skibitsky emphasized.
We remind you that, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate, about 1000-1100 people join the ranks of the Russian army every day – about 30 thousand per month. Russians have a motivation to join the army – it’s wages, especially in crisis regions, where there are either low wages or no work.
The commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, said that the invaders did not achieve the goals they had set in recent months. The offensive of the Russian army failed.
