SBU cyber specialists detained another informant of the Russian special services, who was collecting intelligence information about the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kirovograd region.

The SBU press center reported this today, January 17.
First of all, he was interested in the directions and frequency of flights of Ukrainian combat aircraft, including front-line bombers and fighters, the SBU notes. “He also tried to identify operational airfields of military aviation, control centers and ammunition depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is noted that the attacker sent the information received to specialized Telegram channels that were created by the Russian intelligence services to collect intelligence information about Ukrainian defenders.
To disguise his criminal actions, he periodically changed his profile nickname in the messenger and used a proxy server for anonymization, the SBU notes. — SBU officers documented the facts of the defendant’s illegal activities and detained him in his own home.
The detainee is a resident of Kropyvnytskyi. According to the investigation, he:
- more than three months ago he came to the attention of the aggressor because of his anti-Ukrainian messages on social networks;
- all further communication with the infidels was carried out through Internet resources controlled by them;
- to collect intelligence information, he independently traveled around the region and secretly recorded military installations of the Defense Forces. The attacker also asked his acquaintances for the “necessary” information, whom he used “in the dark.”
During searches at the defendant’s place of residence, computer equipment and a mobile phone were found red-handed.
While he was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 114-2 of the Criminal Code (unauthorized dissemination of information about the direction, movement of weapons, weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, movement or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine) and a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention without the right to post bail.
The perpetrator faces up to eight years in prison.
