Russian invaders continue to attack facilities and energy generation in front-line territories.
Ukraine has enough fuel to get through the winter even with Russian attacks on the country’s energy system. The Minister of Energy German Galushchenko announced this on Tuesday, January 16, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reports.
“We have enough reserves of coal, gas and nuclear fuel. And this gives us confidence. We have passed half of the winter and will live until its end,” he emphasized.
As Galushchenko explained, this was achieved, in particular, thanks to the “widest repair campaign” in energy facilities.
The minister expressed gratitude to his partners for the help provided and noted that “now the system is stable” thanks to common efforts.”
He noted that Russian invaders continue to attack energy facilities in front-line territories. However, an effective air defense system and measures to strengthen the physical protection of energy facilities “do not allow the Russians to cause significant damage to the energy system as a whole.”
The Cabinet of Ministers lifted the ban on the termination of the provision of housing and communal services, the accrual and collection of penalties (fines, penalties) and debt on housing and communal services for the population in case of non-payment. This decision applies only to residents of areas where there is no conflict and are not under temporary occupation.
