The next meeting of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine will take place on January 23 in an online format.
A new meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein) will take place next Tuesday, January 23. This was reported by the press service of the US Department of Defense.
The head of the Pentagon Lloyd Austin held a telephone conversation today, January 16, with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov to discuss the latest news about the situation at the front and the upcoming meeting of Ukraine Defense Contact Group on January 23.
The US Department of Defense noted that Ramstein will take place in a virtual format.
“Austin reiterated that the United States and a coalition of approximately 50 allies and partners remain committed to supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. The parties pledged to maintain close ties,” added the department.
Let’s recall that on November 22 last year a meeting was held in the Ramstein-17 format. At the meeting, new benefit packages for Ukraine were announced. They contain shells, missiles and power to enhance air defense.
According to the head of the Pentagon, since April 2022, the countries participating in the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine have allocated more than $80 billion for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
