The DPRK plans to amend the constitution to include South Korea as “enemy No. 1” and occupation in the event of war.
North Korea should recognize South Korea as enemy country No. 1 and wrote into the constitution a commitment to the complete occupation of its territory in the event of war. This was said by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in a speech to the country, Yonhap reports.
“In the event of a war on the Korean Peninsula, it is necessary to consider the issues of complete occupation, suppression and establishment of control over the Republic of Korea and the subjugation of its territory to the Republic (DPRK – ed.) ,” said Kim, speaking in Pyongyang at the opening of the next session of the Supreme People’s Assembly (Parliament). .
He believes that the DPRK should abandon South Korea’s identity as a partner for reconciliation and unification, and also make changes to its educational programs and formulate to all North Koreans a strong understanding of the Republic of Korea as the No. 1 enemy country and the constant main enemy.
Based on this, Kim ordered measures to dismantle the relics of the past that can be seen as symbols of inter-Korean reconciliation.
“We need to take thorough steps to completely separate all ties between the two Koreas in the border areas, including the need to physically destroy land routes to an irreversible degree,” he said.
The North Korean leader also ordered the dismantling of the Reunification Arch, built in 2001 in Pyongyang to honor late founder Kim Il Sung’s plan to unify Korea through a federal system.
Regarding North Korea’s nuclear weapons, Kim emphasized that his country will not avoid war, although it has no intention of unilaterally starting an armed conflict unless provoked, he said.
“If South Korea invades our territory, space and waters by even one thousandth of a millimeter, we will regard it as a provocation for war,” the dictator said, again threatening to destroy South Korea and cause heavy losses and defeat in the United States.
Let’s remember that the day before the DPRK announced the test of a missile with a hypersonic warhead.
