Russian military intelligence sent a saboteur from Belarus to the Rivne region, who was supposed to correct air strikes on energy infrastructure. However, the Ukrainian special services knew about the enemy’s plans in advance and detained the “Wagnerite” in the Rivne region. This was reported by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The attacker was caught red-handed when he tried to attach several GPS trackers to the poles of power lines supplying the Kyiv agglomeration. Based on the signals from the “beacons,” the invaders wanted to adjust the targeted strike on energy facilities, including the use of Shahed-type kamikaze drones.
The saboteur turned out to be a Belarusian, part of the intelligence apparatus of the Russian Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. From 2014 to 2017, the foreigner was part of the fake L/DPR and participated in combat operations against ATO forces in eastern Ukraine. And after the full-scale Russian invasion, he became a mercenary of the Wagner military forces and participated in the assault on Bakhmut.
It is expected that the enemy agent will be informed of the suspicion for Art. 113 (sabotage) and h. 1 tbsp. 258-3 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Let us remind you that in December the SBU detained an attacker who on October 18 directed Russian missiles at a high-rise building in Zaporozhye. That night, enemy fire killed five people and seriously injured five others.
