The police, after inspecting the scene and studying video from surveillance cameras, determined that the fire occurred as a result of deliberate arson. The fire was started by a seven-year-old boy, a visitor to an amusement park. Kyiv police reported this on Facebook on January 14.
The parents and the child were invited to the police station, where they would have to give statements. Investigators are investigating criminal proceedings initiated under Part 2 of Art. 194 (intentional destruction or damage to property) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Let us remind you that on January 13, in the capital’s shopping center, a fire occurred on the fourth floor of the building where the children’s room is located. About 200 people were evacuated. Three people were injured in the fire: two center workers and an eight-year-old girl. Everyone complained to doctors about poisoning from combustion products, but hospitalization was not required.
