Of the four Ukrainian Formula World meetings, a Chinese representative participated in only one.
A representative of China was not among the participants in the fourth meeting of national security advisers on the Ukrainian Peace Formula on Sunday, January 14, in Davos. This was reported by European Truth.
Among the participants in the Davos meeting today are 81 countries and international organizations, but China is not among them, despite the fact that Beijing received an invitation. The absence of PRC was confirmed in the publication by two sources.
According to them, Davos was deliberately chosen as the venue for the next meeting of the World Formula so that it would take place in the place where the representatives of China are now – the World Economic Forum is being held in Davos these days. However, Beijing refused to participate.
The head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, in a commentary on the EP’s questions about the participants in the meeting, said that the countries of the West and the Global South are actively participating.
“We have an increasing number of participants – more than 80 countries and international organizations; at the last meeting in Malta there were 66,” he said, emphasizing that “many countries express their opinions, especially that of the Global South.”
Let’s remember that of the four World Formula meetings, a representative of China took part in one, which took place last year in early August in Jeddah. Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba then called China’s participation a “historic victory.”
At the next meeting, held in Malta in the fall, China was absent. The Office of the President explained it as a “divergence in schedules.”
