This was reported by the Operations Directorate of the Polish Armed Forces.
There is an increased activity of long-range aviation of the Russian Federation, which is associated with the intention of attacks on the territory of Ukraine. All necessary procedures have been initiated to ensure the safety of Polish airspace, the statement says.
Subsequently, the Polish military announced that “all necessary procedures have begun to ensure the safety of Polish airspace.”
We warn that Polish and allied aircraft have been activated, which may lead to an increase in noise levels, especially in the south-eastern part of the country,” the Polish PS said.
During the attack, Russia used cruise, aeroballistic, ballistic, aircraft, anti-aircraft guided missiles and attack drones.
This is not the first time Poland has reacted this way to a Ukrainian air attack. At the end of 2023, one of the missiles flew into the territory of this NATO member country.
And already on January 2, two pairs of F-16 fighters and an allied air tanker were brought in to ensure the security of Polish airspace.
