According to BILD journalist Julian Repke, since the end of December, Russian troops have stopped large-scale attacks by armored vehicles in the village of Sinkovka in the Kharkov region. They tried to take this settlement in order to advance further towards Kupyansk.
For about two weeks now, separate infantry units have been attacking there without the support of armored vehicles. At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to launch a partial counteroffensive and occupy some Russian positions near Kupyansk.
In attacks, Ukrainians use heavy armored vehicles, for example, Swedish Strf 90 infantry fighting vehicles. They come within a few meters of Russian trenches, which puts not only firepower, but also powerful psychological pressure on the enemy.
The command of the Russian occupation army has not achieved the goals it set in recent months, said the commander of the Ground Forces, Alexander Syrsky, on January 12.
Recently, thanks to the actions of our defenders, the offensive of the Russian army regularly suffered setbacks and the enemy suffered heavy losses. At the same time, the enemy continues to advance in several directions and has the necessary resources for this,” Syrsky wrote.
