The document formalizes the support that London has provided and will continue to provide to Kyiv, including intelligence exchange, cybersecurity, medical and military training and defense-industry cooperation.
Ukraine and Great Britain signed a security agreement. It was found out on Friday, January 12.
The corresponding document was signed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who arrived in Kyiv today.
It is known that the deal is for 10 years. It will cease to apply when Ukraine becomes a member of NATO.
As you know, in July 2023, at the NATO summit in Vilnius, the G7 countries approved a declaration providing long-term support for Ukraine in the field of security and economy. Any country that, at the bilateral level, officially agrees to provide certain guarantees to Ukraine can join this G7 declaration.
The UK has become the first country to enter into a final agreement with Ukraine. The document formalizes the support London has provided and will continue to provide to Kyiv, including intelligence sharing, cybersecurity, medical and military training, and defense-industry cooperation.
Sunak will also today announce a new military aid package to Ukraine worth £2.5 billion.
