Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky visited Latvia on January 11 as part of his tour of the Baltic countries. During this visit, it became known that Latvia was preparing a new large package of military assistance for Ukraine.
The President of the Republic of Latvia, Edgars Rinkevics, announced that the new aid package will include howitzers, ammunition, anti-tank weapons, helicopters, drones, communication devices, and equipment.
There will also be an intergovernmental agreement on assistance to Ukraine. Earlier, the Seimas voted to provide more than 500 million euros for the reconstruction program over three years – the program will concentrate on the Chernihiv region, added the President of Latvia.
Latvia also pledged to lead a drone coalition within the framework of Ramstein.
Putin will not end the war until we all end it together,” Zelensky said on January 10 at a press conference with his Lithuanian colleague Gitanas Nausėda.
The Russian president will not calm down until he destroys Ukraine. After Ukraine, you know well who has the following risks. We must understand that Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Moldova may be next. This is a fact. “If we don’t hold it,” Zelensky said.
