China’s gas production in 2023 will reach 230 billion cubic meters, oil production will reach 208 million tons.
In China, oil and natural gas production will exceed 390 million tons of oil equivalent in 2023, a record volume. This was reported by the State Energy Administration (NEA).
It was noted that oil production reached 208 million tons, which increased by more than 3 million tons over the previous year. This is due to a significant increase in offshore production – up to 62 million tons.
Shale oil production exceeded 4 million tons and reached a historical maximum.
It is reported that China’s gas production in 2023 will reach 230 billion cubic meters. The annual production growth rate reached 10 billion cubic meters based on the results of the seventh month.

China has also reportedly reduced its oil purchases from Russia.
