The Verkhovna Rada, with the votes of “servants”, OPZZH and deputy groups, appointed Olga Peschanskaya, the president’s friend and neighbor from Krivoy Rog, as chairman of the Accounts Chamber.

In favor – 252 deputies.
Peschanskaya is the former head of the Antimonopoly Committee.
Earlier, international partners and organizations called on Kyiv not to rush into the appointment and first regulate the activities of the Accounts Chamber at the legislative level.
The issue of Peschanskaya’s appointment was on the agenda on December 21 last year, but then the deputies did not vote for her appointment.
In the system of government bodies, the Accounts Chamber occupies a particularly important place and must be truly effective. But for some reason he is perceived only as a “vassal” of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Ambassadors of the G7 countries have publicly called for changes in the selection procedure not to appoint members of the Court of Accounts. They noted that, prior to the passage of the reform law, these appointments “would have undermined the credibility of the institution responsible for overseeing international aid.”
