Romania has ensured the transportation of more than 1 million tons of grain from Ukraine since a massive Russian offensive began. This was stated by Romanian President Klaus Iohannis at a joint press conference with the leaders of Ukraine, Germany, France and Italy in Kyiv.
“We see that there is another element of blackmail on the part of Russia-these weapons have made grain exports with global consequences. Today we have discussed possible ways to overcome the food crisis,” he said. said Iohannis.
He noted that one of them is the transit of Ukrainian exports through Romania, which serves as a grain crossing.
“We are working hard to find the best solutions to ensure travel through our Romanian Black Sea port of Constanta and our port on the Danube. From the beginning of the Russian invasion, the port of Constanta has already provided transit that more than a million tons of grain from Ukraine, “the President said.
It will be recalled that on Thursday, June 16, Kyiv was visited by the leaders of four EU countries who support the immediate granting of candidate status for EU membership for Ukraine.
The meeting of the leaders of the countries lasted about two hours. It should discuss issues of food security, weapons and support for Ukraine.
