Shahed-238 flew at a speed of 500 km/h and flew in the middle of the country. The specialist says this is changing.
The first Shahed-238 with a jet engine, recently introduced by Iran, was shot down in the airspace of Ukraine. This was announced on Monday, January 8, by communications and radio electronics specialist Sergei Flesh Beskrestnov.
According to him, the drone was able to fly over half of Ukraine before it was shot down. He flies at a speed of 500 km/h.
Beskrestnov noted that jet-powered Shaheds can now fly across the country.
At the same time, there are also positive aspects: “there is not a single “super weapon of the Reich” in the new Shaheds. Regular charge. Regular navigation.”
Beskrestnov also emphasized that although a jet UAV has high speed, air defense slows it down, although not by all means.
“Mobile groups with anti-aircraft guns are useless; they need to be equipped with MANPADS (Osa, Igla, Stinger),” he wrote.
Beskrestnov noted that the new drones will fly faster and maneuver better.
He also noted that Ukrainians should know that in addition to the sound of a moped in the sky there is now the sound of an airplane.
Photos of the wreckage, said to be an Iranian suicide bomber, also surfaced on social networks.
Previously, the Ukrainian Air Force admitted that the new Iranian Shahed-238 was more difficult to detect.
