The head of state at this meeting also thanked Japan for all the valuable assistance to Ukraine.
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky met with Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikova. The head of state announced this on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, January 7.
“I am grateful for the level of cooperation we have achieved – a true strategic partnership,” he said.
The Ukrainian leader thanked Japan for all its important assistance to Ukraine, including security assistance, strong leadership within the G7 and internationally, as well as financial, economic and humanitarian aid.
Japan has also provided a large energy aid package, Zelensky added.
“Today we discussed our future cooperation, including the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference in February, as well as the next joint steps in the field of security, working together on a peace formula and strengthening sanctions against Russia. I am confident that this year will be significant for our bilateral relations,” – Zelensky summed up.
As already reported, Yoko Kamikawa arrived in Kyiv on Sunday, January 7, for an unannounced visit.
