Law enforcement officials are identifying the country of manufacture of the missiles that the Russian Federation struck in Kharkov on January 2.
The head of the military administration of the Kharkov region, Oleg Sinegubov, said that in Kharkov, after the latest Russian strikes, the remains of Iskanderov-M, but not made in Russia, the marks on them were erased. He said this in a briefing on January 5, reports Ukrinform.
“We are now conducting all the necessary research to establish the country of origin. First, I would say that the marks have been erased from these missiles. However, what we see, the country of origin is not the Russian Federation, let’s say When there will be more accurate information from the General Staff, from our intelligence, we will report it immediately,” Sinegubov noted.
According to the Kharkov Regional Prosecutor’s Office, law enforcement officials are establishing the country of production of missiles that the Russian Federation struck in Kharkov on January 2.
“Prosecutors, together with investigators and experts, conducted further analysis of the missile remains,” the statement said.
The purpose of the investigative action is to verify the version about the production of the specified missile ammunition outside the Russian Federation.
The information obtained during the additional inspection will be given to experts for conducting comprehensive forensic explosive, explosive, and military examinations.
We remind you that the White House National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby said that Russia has already used missiles purchased from the DPRK in Ukraine at least twice – on December 30, 2023 and January 2, 2024.
The Air Force has yet to confirm information about the Russian military’s use of ballistic missiles transferred by North Korea.
