After the mutiny of the private military company Wagner under the leadership of Yevgeny Prigozhin, Putin is trying to hedge his bets. That’s why last November he approved the creation of the Moscow government’s security forces, a new organization to protect the capital’s infrastructure. The UK Ministry of Defense announced this on Twitter.
The unit received its firearms permit in July of this year. The Moscow “self-defense” unit can be expanded to 15 thousand people. The British believe that in this way the Russian dictatorship wants to save itself from the next rebellion.
In addition, this project gives Moscow residents the opportunity to voluntarily perform “patriotic” wartime duties while avoiding war against Ukraine on the front lines.
Let us recall that British intelligence reported that if the rate of daily losses of the Russian Federation in the war with Ukraine remains constant, then by 2025 the aggressor country will lose at least 500 thousand soldiers, officers and mercenaries killed and wounded.
