“France’s support for the supply of military equipment naturally continues. It will gradually change its nature, because the goal is to produce more weapons in Ukraine, and not only through donations or purchase,” he explained.
According to Veissières, it takes some time to switch from one approach to another.
The ambassador emphasized that there is political support for the strategy of providing arms to Ukraine, which, in particular, was given by the French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna. He has made five visits to Ukraine.
“Once again we are working on the sixth visit of Catherine Colonna, I can’t announce the date yet, but in the coming days. And of course we are also working on other tours,” said Veissier.
It was previously reported that France will allocate 200 million euros for military support to Ukraine.
