“I think the barns should be located where the vast metals from Ukraine end up. Then it will be easier to reload the grain and thus increase the loading capacity. With the current capabilities, the maximum quantity of grain that can be reloaded in Poland is about 1.5 million tons, how Ukraine needs is approximately 5 million tons per month, ”Kovalchik said.
He stressed that “the implementation of this type of investment takes about three to four months.”
Earlier, US President Joe Biden said Washington, along with allies and partners, was working on implementing an alternative scheme for exporting grain from Ukraine by rail. It provides for the construction of temporary barns near the Ukrainian borders, including Poland.
It was also reported that Ukraine was looking for temporary barns in the EU. European countries will be able to provide Ukraine with collapsible modular structures and large plastic bags for grain storage.
