In the Russian city of Belgorod, the death toll from the attack rose to 10, with another 45 people injured. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported this on Saturday, December 30.
“In Belgorod, nine adults and one child were killed due to Ukrainian Armed Forces shooting. 45 people were injured, four of them children,” the report said.
Additional information is still being finalized. It was also known about 10 fires that have been extinguished.
In this regard, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin was informed about the events in Belgorod. A team of doctors was sent to the city.
Earlier on Saturday, the media reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked military facilities in Belgorod. But the ineffective work of Russian air defense has caused damage to the city’s civilian infrastructure, the sources said.
Let’s remember that on December 29, Russia carried out one of the most intense and massive attacks on Ukraine. The enemy launched more than 150 missiles and drones at residential areas, critical infrastructure, industrial and military facilities across Ukraine.
Explosions were heard in Kyiv, Lvov, Odessa, Dnepr, Zaporozhye, Sumy, Lviv, and Dnepropetrovsk regions. 39 people died and more than 100 were injured.
