The upper house of the Parliament of the Czech Republic supported limiting the payment of so -called humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees to the amount of 5,000 crowns (200 euros), reports Radio Romania International.
The said amount will no longer be accrued if the Czech state provides the arriving refugees with shelter, food and hygiene products free of charge. The proposal is directed against “subsidized tourism”. The state will also check whether refugees registered in the Czech Republic live at the addresses they have declared. Humanitarian aid, starting from the second month of the refugees ’stay in the Czech Republic, will be accumulated in the area of permanent registration.
Earlier, the government of the Czech Republic decided that the so-called “temporary protection” addressed to refugees from fighting in Ukraine will not be granted to citizens simultaneously holding passports of other European countries. Union. The ban on the issuance of visas and residence permits in the Czech Republic for citizens of Russia and Belarus has also been extended.
The document has not yet been signed by Czech President Milos Zeman.
