The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces published operational information about the Russian invasion on Thursday morning, December 28.
“In the past 24 hours, 56 military clashes took place. In general, the enemy carried out 1 missile and 77 air strikes, carried out 51 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of The Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there were dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged . In the last 24 hours at night, the Russian invaders attacked Ukraine again, using 5 UAVs of the Shahed -136/131 type. Our defenders destroyed 4 attack UAVs. Currently, the invaders launched another air strike by 3 UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type. All enemy drones were destroyed,” the General Staff said in a statement.
Air strikes were received by: Ivanovka, Kharkov region; Serebryansky forestry, Lugansk region; Spornoe, Novomikhailovka, Zolotaya Niva, Donetsk region; Orekhov, Preobrazhenka, Zaporozhye region, Red Mayak, Zmievka, Dudchany and Novoberislav, Kherson region.
About 130 settlements of Chernigov, Sumy, Kharkov, Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye Kherson and Nikolaev regions came under artillery fire.
In the direction of Kupyansk, Ukrainian defenders repulsed 9 enemy attacks near Sinkovka and east of Ivanovka, Kharkov region.
In the Liman direction, the Defense Forces repelled 3 enemy attacks in the Serebryansky forestry area of the Lugansk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defenses of our troops.
In the direction of Bakhmut, our soldiers repelled 2 attacks of invaders near Bogdanovka, Donetsk region.
“In the direction of Avdeevka, the defenders of Ukraine continued to suppress the enemy, who did not give up attempts to besiege Avdeevka. Our soldiers firmly held the defense, causing heavy losses to the invaders. So , in the past 24 hours, the Defense Forces have repelled 15 attacks east of Novobakhmutovka, Avdeevka and 17 attacks near Severny, Pervomaisky and Nevelskogo, Donetsk region. In the Maryinsky direction, the Defense Forces continue to contain the enemy in the areas of Marinka and Novomikhailovka, Donetsk region, where our defenders repelled 3 attacks,” the General Staff reported.
In the direction of Shakhtarsky, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.
In the direction of Zaporozhye, the Defense Forces repelled 3 attacks west of Verbovoy and Rabotino, Zaporozhye region.
“In the direction of Kherson, Ukrainian soldiers continue to take steps to expand the bridgehead. Despite heavy losses, the enemy does not abandon attempts to dislodge our units from their positions. In the past 24 time, the enemy carried out 13 unsuccessful attack operations on the positions of the Defense Forces, received a well-deserved rebuff and retreated. The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to actively inflict losses on the forces of conquest of manpower and equipment, depleting the enemy along the entire front line,” the General Staff said in its morning report.
Over the past 24 hours, our aviation has carried out strikes on 10 areas where personnel, weapons and military equipment are concentrated and on 2 enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.
Missile force units hit 5 areas where personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated, 2 control points, 6 ammunition depots and 2 enemy artillery.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down seven Shahed-type UAVs during the night. Enemy drones were shot down within the Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd and Zaporozhye regions.
