Russia began an informal meeting of the UN Security Council to present “fresh ideas” about the war in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine today, December 27.
“On December 27, the Russian Federation plans to hold an informal meeting of the UN Security Council on the so-called “Arria formula.” The title of the event was announced: “10 years of Euromaidan in Ukraine: a step into the abyss,” said of the message.
GUR explained that the “Arria formula” is an informal meeting where representatives of countries can have an open exchange of views.
“They are not subject to strict procedural rules and involve participants who are not involved in diplomatic work. That is, people who will “benefit from listening.” However, this format is handy when diplomats must to openly discuss controversial issues outside official procedures”, said the GUR.
Intelligence has learned that during the meeting the Russians will once again try to convey to the public their traditional narratives about the “neo-Nazi nature of the Kiev regime and its armed formations”, they will talk about “history of Nazism in Ukraine and the current state”, “crimes of nationalist battalions against civilians in eastern and southern Ukraine.”
“The document presented to the Secretary General of the UN also does not contain “fresh” ideas and repeats the traditional formulations of Russian propaganda. The central message of the “presentation”: “inspiration for the Euromaidan of Western countries and United States.” Accordingly, the unleashed war was justified by plans to “protect the peaceful population in the east and south of Ukraine,” said the Main Intelligence Directorate.
The Main Intelligence Directorate named the characteristics of the invited guests, which the Russians are counting on at this time. These are Yanukovych’s Interior Minister Vitaly Zakharchenko, one of the Berkut commanders Dmitry Sabina, as well as Russian propagandists Maxim Grigoriev and Mikhail Khazin, and the meeting will be led by the permanent representative of the Russian Federation at the UN Vasily Nebenzya.
“In general, the interest in the announced event on the part of the members of the UN Security Council is very low. Most of them will be represented by the so-called “experts,” that is, advisers or other secretaries. They are not in the mood to “listen attentively” to Zakharchenko, but intended to express the position of their states in “about the “real state of affairs”. Media is almost at zero level. Broadcasting is planned only on some web pages and social networks,” commented the power steering situation.
All of the above allows GUR to conclude that Russian diplomacy is finally becoming a generator of crazy ideas that no one in the world takes seriously.
“Obviously, the meeting is part of the “Putin election” program, scheduled for March 2024. According to Russian propagandists, it will be useful for voters to know that theses justifying the war in Ukraine will be heard within the walls of the UN. And the “intimate” informal status will allow them to be removed from the misleading comments of international diplomats about another nonsense about “the mosquitoes in battle” and “America’s biological laboratories,” the intelligence department added.
It was previously reported that Russian special services were creating fake Telegram channels of Ukrainian brigades and battalions to collect information and discredit the Ukrainian military. In addition, the Russians are spreading fake news about the “mobilization of orphans” in Ukraine.
