During the full-scale Russian invasion, the Ukrainian Defense Forces recorded 465 instances of the Russian Federation using ammunition laced with toxic chemicals.

Of these, 81 cases occurred in December of this year alone. The press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this today, December 27.
At the same time, the dynamics of application are growing. Thus, in just one day, December 19, Russia carried out 8 attacks using chemicals, the General Staff notes.
It is noted that the enemy uses in such attacks:
- most often – grenades, such as K-51, RGR and the Drofa-PM hand gas grenade, which are dropped from a UAV;
- improvised explosive devices filled with irritating substances;
- artillery shelling containing chemically hazardous substances is also carried out;
- On December 14, 2023, the use of a new type of special gas grenades RG-VO containing an unknown chemical substance was revealed.
28 cases of the use of dangerous chemicals were documented and sent for investigative actions within the framework of criminal proceedings by radiation, chemical, and biological reconnaissance groups from the military units of the Support Forces Command together with the Security Service of Ukraine, the statement says.
