Russian troops attacked the railway station in Kherson. Apart from the station building itself, trains were also damaged, including an evacuation train.
During the evacuation of civilians from the Kherson station, police lieutenant from the Kirovograd region Igor Misyunya was killed as a result of enemy fire. This was reported on Tuesday, December 26, in the communication department of the Main Directorate of Public Administration in the Kirovograd region.
He is 29 years old. He began serving in 2017 in the city of Dolinskaya. He is survived by his wife and two children.
Two other policemen, who helped evacuate the citizens, sustained shrapnel wounds and are in hospital.
Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko responded to the death of the policeman.
“Unfortunately, as a result of the shooting, a police lieutenant from the Kirovograd region was killed. He served as part of a joint detachment in Kherson. He was mortally wounded during the evacuation of people. Our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased… Two other policemen are in the hospital with shrapnel wounds.” , – Klimenko wrote.
Passengers of the Kherson train that came under the Russian attack on the station traveled to Nikolaev by bus.
