Zurabishvili was not invited to the annual meeting of heads of Georgian diplomatic missions and consular offices.
The President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili was not invited to the annual meeting of heads of Georgian diplomatic missions and consular offices. It was reported by Echo of the Caucasus in reference to the Zurabishvili administration.
It is mentioned that the event Ambassadors Conference 2023, Georgia – a candidate country for the European Union opened on December 26 by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Foreign Minister Ilya Darchiashvili.
It was earlier reported that the leader of the ruling party Georgian dream Irakli Kobakhidze said that the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili could be removed in August-September 2024.
Let’s remember that on October 18, the Georgian parliament failed to impeach Zurabishvili. The representatives did not get the required number of votes.
They tried to impeach Zurabishvili due to the fact that, despite the lack of government permission, he went on a foreign tour to achieve the granting of candidate status to Georgia for accession to the European Union. According to Georgian rules, the president is obliged to obtain the government’s permission for this. The Constitutional Court found that Zurabishvili violated the constitution with his actions.
