After the ship was hit, a powerful explosion occurred and there was detonation. It is unlikely that this VDK will survive after this. Later it will become known what Novocherkassk was transporting – ammunition or Shahed-type attack drones. Press Secretary of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat stated this on Radio Liberty.
We have Storm Shadow, we have SCALP in service. Well, clearly more than one missile is being launched to achieve such a defeat,” he noted and added that Russian air defense was overcome with the help of “certain tactics and good Western weapons.”
Ignat did not confirm the Russian statement about the destruction of two Ukrainian Su-24 attack aircraft during the attack on Crimea.
Let us remind you that at about 2.30 on December 26, tactical aviation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Russian large landing ship Novocherkassk, located in the Feodosia region, with cruise missiles. This ship could transport attack drones of the Shahed type to Crimea.
Powerful explosions at the port led to destruction in Feodosia. According to information from local publics, windows in all the houses closest to the port were blown out by the blast wave.
The Russian command has already admitted the defeat of this ship. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced “damage” to the ship, which allegedly repelled an attack by Ukrainian cruise missiles. The occupiers also fantasized that the air defense “shot down two Ukrainian Su-24 aircraft that were launching aircraft missiles.”
