More and more Russian military personnel are simulating attacks and surrendering in groups.

The speaker of the joint press center of the Tauride Defense Forces, Alexander Shtupun, announced this at a briefing on December 25 during a telethon.

It should be noted that entire groups of Russian military personnel began to surrender. One of the reasons why the enemy does this is, one might say, the inhumane attitude on the part of the command. Because for refusing to go on senseless assaults or for some other fault, the officers strip them naked – this is in winter – and put them like that in cold pits, beat them and threaten them with executions,” he said.

Earlier, Shtupun explained that the Defense Forces are not curtailing any operations at the front, but are only reformatting them to suit the conditions of a shortage of shells.

Reuters not only attributed words to the commander of the operational-strategic group of forces (OSUV) “Tavria”, Alexander Tarnavsky, that he did not say, but also included them in the headline,” a spokesman for the Tavria Defense Forces said last week.

Shtupun sharply criticized the Reuters publication that released an interview with Tarnavsky, changing the commander’s words in such a way that they no longer correspond to reality.

Ammunition is being redistributed. There is a certain decrease in the supply of ammunition, this is no secret. But to talk about a complete curtailment of operations… Well, for example, the Tavria OSUS conducts only two operations – defensive and offensive. It is simply impossible to fold one. This is clear to all military personnel, but incomprehensible to all civilians. That’s why they write such headlines. I want clickability, I want hype, I want his media to be better,” said Shtupun.

The press secretary of the Tauride Defense Forces clarified what exactly Tarnavsky said:

The volumes that we have today are not enough for our needs today. So we redistribute them. We reschedule the tasks we have set for ourselves and reduce them because we need to provide them.

However, Reuters, at its own discretion, paraphrased Tarnavsky’s words and included in the title that “Ukrainian troops lack artillery and are curtailing some operations.”
