The US Congress went on Christmas break without resolving the issue of aid to Ukraine and strengthening security on the Mexican border.
Western support will remain and Ukraine, considering the help of its allies, is planning upcoming offensive operations. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov said this on Sunday, December 24, in an interview with Suspilny.
“We must see how the enemy will act. We are making a defense plan, discussing these issues with partners and planning continued cooperation. The issue of financial or other support will continue to arise until we launch our economy, which unfortunately, we cannot. have in the volumes we need,” said Umerov.
The minister called the situation with the delay of the US aid package “complicated, but manageable.”
“Neither the United States nor Europe has refused to support Ukraine, and the reason for the delay is domestic policy issues,” he said.
Umerov stressed that in his last conversation with the United States Secretary of Defense, he assured that US support would continue.
Ukraine and the United States will jointly develop air defense systems
It was previously reported that the United States will help Ukraine with reforms, infrastructure and increasing exports.
