Next year, tests are planned to control the fire of the Caesar self-propelled gun using artificial intelligence.
In January, the Artillery Coalition will begin work in Paris to strengthen the Ukrainian army. The Ministry of Defense announced this on Sunday, December 24.
The corresponding statement was made by the Deputy Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Ivan Gavrilyuk at a meeting with a delegation of the Senate of the French Parliament. He emphasized that it is very important for Ukraine to increase its firepower thanks to the supply of artillery systems by its allies.
In particular, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are interested in additional purchases of the Caesar self-propelled artillery system for their needs.
“Caesar’s self-propelled guns showed high efficiency and accuracy in battle,” Gavrilyuk said.
He announced that in 2024, tests of the Caesar self-propelled gun fire control using artificial intelligence are planned.
According to him, the use of AI will reduce the use of ammunition in shooting and hitting targets by 30%.
At the same time, Gavrilyuk called on the French side to help increase the amount of ammunition for Caesar’s self-propelled guns.
As is known, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been using Caesar self-propelled guns since the spring of 2022. In October, several arms contracts were signed between Ukraine and France, including the supply of Caesar installations.
We remind you that thanks to partners in France and Denmark, Ukraine has the second largest fleet of Caesar self-propelled guns in the world.
