The mobilization of this category of citizens is a matter of justice for all, “as far as our own country is concerned.” Currently, the Ministry of Defense is considering men between the ages of 25 and 60 for conscription. Subpoenas will be sent to everyone if the relevant decision is made. Umerov told “Public” about this.
According to him, the Ministry of Defense has information about the number of Ukrainian men of military age who are abroad. He noted that they have already “consolidated all databases.” Umerov is confident that some of these men will return to Ukraine.
The minister clarified that these people are simply being asked to register. Next, they will be offered different options as part of recruiting, where they can choose a specialty.
The focus is not on how to punish a person, but on how to provide opportunities so that all security concerns for a serviceman are removed. This is our goal. What categories of restrictions will be introduced are collective decisions, and whether the Verkhovna Rada will pass it or not will depend on the vote,” he noted.
Let us remind you that Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said that his department is considering the possibility of inviting men to territorial recruitment centers via electronic notification.
