Farmers are asking for a subsidy for the purchase of corn, maintaining the tax at the current year’s level and continued liquidity lending.
Polish farmers suspended protests at the Ukrainian border at the Shegini-Medika checkpoint. This was announced by the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Poland Michal Kolodziejczak on the social network X (Twitter) on Saturday, December 23.
“Since the morning, together with Minister Sekierski, we have been in contact with the farmers who are leading the protest. The protest movement has been suspended, the three main demands will enter the implementation phase in the near future. After the New Year, sit down us down to the table to collaborate on prospective decisions,” Kolodziejczak wrote.
It is known that the farmers are asking for a subsidy for the purchase of corn, maintenance of the agricultural tax at the level of the current year and continued liquid lending.
Let’s remember that at the end of November, Polish farmers joined the blockade of carriers at the Ukrainian border. They plan to protest until January 3.
The day before it became known that the Ukrainian and Polish sides agreed on an action plan to unblock border checkpoints for trucks.
Meanwhile, today almost 4,000 trucks are lined up at the border between Ukraine and Poland.
