In Ukraine, the mobilization of women will be carried out exclusively on a voluntary basis. Registration of women is only at their personal request. This was announced by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Alexey Danilov, on Ukrainian radio.
“If a woman has the desire to serve, she can voluntarily apply at the Recruitment Center, fill out the relevant documents, and undergo a medical examination. After that, she can join at a level with men .But this is only at the request of women,” stressed the NSDC secretary.
Since the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the number of women in the Armed Forces of Ukraine has increased significantly. Today, there are more than 60 thousand women in total in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that the Verkhovna Rada was preparing military registration for women. The bill states that during martial law, women will enter military service, but for combat positions – only voluntarily.
President Vladimir Zelensky said he would not sign the women’s mobilization law.
