The enemy aircraft was moving from the side of the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporozhye region in the direction of the positions of the Defense Forces. He was noticed by the artillerymen of the observation group. Soldiers of the 3rd operational brigade of the NGU “Spartan” opened fire to kill. The Eastern Operational-Territorial Association of the National Guard reported this on Facebook on December 22.
Three guardsmen fired at the Lancet with Kalashnikov assault rifles and hit the drone. It exploded in the sky, and the remains of the UAV fell 30 m from its target.
The NSU reported that almost every day the Ukrainian military on this section of the front operates with small arms at the occupying UAVs such as ZALA, Orlan and Lancet. The military notes that it is almost impossible to shoot down such a target with a Kalashnikov.
Let us recall that in November, journalist Andrei Tsaplienko reported that the enemy began to use new “Lancets” that bypass defensive structures on vehicles. Now the destruction of equipment occurs not due to a collision between the drone and equipment, but due to the fact that the drone is equipped with a new warhead, which is fired as it approaches the target forward.
