President Vladimir Zelensky met with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, who arrived in Kyiv on a visit. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian leader on Friday, December 22.
The President noted the importance of the first visit of the newly appointed head of the Polish Foreign Ministry to Ukraine.
“We hope to open a new page in our relations. We are very strong neighbors with a common history. We are glad to see you here. I hope that the Prime Minister of Poland will also find an opportunity to come to Ukraine on the next occasion, Zelensky said.
The President of Ukraine and the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry agreed that bilateral relations should receive a new force, and all problematic issues should be resolved in the spirit of trust and mutual respect.
Zelensky and Sikorsky discussed further cooperation in the defense sector and the basic needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Separately, there was talk about the creation of joint production, as well as the possibility of purchasing Polish weapons that have shown results on the battlefield.
The issues of preparing the next meeting at the level of advisers to the heads of state on the implementation of the Peace Formula and holding the Global Peace Summit were also discussed.
Let’s remember that on December 11, Donald Tusk was elected Prime Minister of Poland. Two days later, the new government was sworn in by Polish President Andrzej Duda.
