Electricity is imported throughout the day from Slovakia, Romania and Moldova, Ukrenergo said.
In the past 24 hours, Ukraine has doubled its electricity imports from European countries. It was reported by Ukrainergo on Friday, December 22.
“Electricity is imported throughout the day from Slovakia, Romania and Moldova. The total volume is 14,011 MWh, with peak power in individual hours of up to 771 MW. From December 1, the technical possibility of -import of electricity from Europe to Ukraine and Moldova is 1,700 MW,” – said the message.
Also yesterday, two thermal power plant units were connected to the power grid. Currently, the electricity produced by power plants of all types is sufficient to supply all consumers.
At the same time, due to bad weather in Ukraine, 397 settlements in Donetsk, Transcarpathian, Lviv, Volyn and Kharkov regions were cut off. The worst situation was in Transcarpathia, where strong winds and wet snow left 271 settlements without electricity.
And in the Kharkov region, 190 consumers are suffering without electricity due to theft of wires from poles damaged by bad weather.
Due to technical damage, consumers in the Zaporozhye and Chernihiv regions were cut off.
Due to military operations and other reasons, 415 communities remain without electricity. Due to the shelling, there were new damages to oblenergos networks in Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Nikolaev, Kharkov, and Kherson regions.
Emergency restoration is being carried out there depending on the security situation and with the permission of the military.
A day before it became known that Russian invaders twice attacked one of the thermal power plants in the eastern region of Ukraine. The equipment was badly damaged.
