Previously, Ignatov denied information about having a Russian passport.
Later, the VKKS officially confirmed that it “acquainted itself with the information received from the competent authorities,” and also reportedly made requests for immediate confirmation or denial of information about the possible possession of Russian citizenship by Chairman of the Commission. .
“In connection with the appearance in the public space of information about the possible existence of the head of the Russian citizenship Commission, as well as based on the results of familiarization with the content of the information received from the competent authorities, the Commission considers it necessary. to make appropriate requests for immediate confirmation or denial of published information.
To ensure the openness of the process, the Commission decided to involve public representatives. Based on the results of the review of the received documents, the Commission will immediately make a decision,” the message said.
The commission emphasized that it takes a “principled position on not accepting citizenship of states other than Ukraine,” especially the aggressor country, from judges and members of judicial governing bodies.
In this regard, Roman Ignatov said in a comment that he is preparing a briefing where he plans to answer all the questions that have arisen.
“This is a provocation at the state level. They don’t need people of principle and integrity,” the official said.
