Officials from the Department of Urban Infrastructure of the Uzhgorod City Council, together with employees of the “Communal Track Operating Enterprise,” systematically embezzled funds from the local budget. During the repair of buildings and structures of the utility enterprise, as well as during the purchase of materials, these individuals, in collusion with the contractor firms under their control, embezzled part of the budget funds, as they inflated the cost of work and construction materials. The SBU department in the Transcarpathian region reported this on Facebook.
Law enforcement also found out that the head of the structure, despite obvious violations of the terms of the tender, signed an act confirming the proper performance of services. Thus, the state suffered losses amounting to almost 700 thousand UAH.
The SBU has already conducted a number of searches and seized draft records and financial and economic documentation.
The head of one of the departments of the Department and the director of the utility company were informed of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 191 (misappropriation, embezzlement of property or taking possession of it through abuse of official position) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. And the director of the contractor company is also suspected under Part 1 of Art. 366 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code.
Let us remind you that journalist Vitaly Glagola reported that this morning law enforcement officers began investigative actions in the Department of City Infrastructure, the utility company KSHEP and in the department responsible for capital construction.
