The Belarusian armed forces, with the support of the Russian military command, deployed several battalions and tactical groups in two regions of the country. This is stated in a new report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), which refers to information released by Ukrainian military observer Konstantin Mashovets on December 17.
It is noted that the air assault battalion of the 38th air assault brigade is located in Uzhovo and south of Pinsk, Brest region. And in Ivanov, Brest region and Pribolovichi, Gomel region, there are two detachments of the 5th special forces brigade.
The parachute battalion of the 103rd separate airborne brigade was located near the Lelchitsy district, Brahim and Zyabrovka of the Gomel region. A tactical group of the 51st Artillery Brigade is currently deployed south of Gomel. A rocket artillery battery of the 336th rocket artillery brigade was transferred to the Zyabrovka area of the Gomel region.
According to Mashovets, this group consists of 1,840 military personnel, up to 68-70 armored personnel carriers, 24 artillery systems and three air defense systems.
Let us recall that in Belarus, curators from the Russian FSB, attached to the local military-industrial complex, accuse the latter of disrupting the supply of paid equipment for the Russian army. Moscow is dissatisfied with this priority and demands that pressure be put on the heads of Belarusian enterprises and an audit be launched to bring those involved to justice.
