Ioseliani is known for his parable films, where he tried not to invite famous actors to participate in them, so that the audience could more easily identify themselves with the characters.

Among his famous films are Pastoral, Favorites of the Moon, Hunting for Butterflies and Gardens in Autumn.

His last film, Winter Song, was released in 2015.
