According to Shtefko, the first two grenades, which one of the deputies threw at the feet of fellow villagers during a session of the village council in the village of Keretski, rolled under his chair. The military man was wearing prosthetics and one of them was badly damaged.

“Everything happened very quickly, literally in two or three seconds, I didn’t have time to react. I woke up already in the hospital. They did all the operations on me, stabilized me. Prostheses saved me – although one of them “It’s broken, I have to change it. But before that, I still have to heal wounds is a long process,” said Vasily Shtefko.

Ukrinform reported that Vasily Shtefko, a soldier of the 128th brigade, went to the front as a volunteer at the beginning of a full-scale raid, hiding the fact that he had two prostheses. He served as a driver in one of the brigade units in the Zaporozhye direction. Later, due to health problems, he was sent to the rear, and after a while he was commissioned.

After returning from the front to his native village of Keretski, Stefko volunteered for the Ukrainian Armed Forces; he is a member of the village council.

We remind you that on December 15, in Transcarpathia, in the building of the Keretskovsky village council, a deputy exploded three grenades at the very session meeting. About 23 people were injured in the explosions, including the suspect. The victims sustained injuries of varying severity.
