On the night of November 17, the occupying army attacked with an Iskander-K cruise missile and an X-59 guided aircraft missile fired from the occupied territory of Kherson and Crimea. Also, 20 kamikaze drones were launched from the Crimean region of Chauda and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia. The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this on Telegram.
Anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces were involved in repelling the air attack. The defenders managed to destroy 20 Shahed-type attack drones and one X-59 guided aircraft missile. But the Iskander-K cruise missile did not reach its target. Air targets were landed within the Odessa, Kherson, Zaporozhye and Khmelnytsky regions.
The Southern Defense Forces reported that 16 UAVs were destroyed. However, during the combat work of the Ukrainian military, one of the fired drones fell on a private residential building in the Odessa region and exploded. The blast wave damaged houses around the hangar with the property of a private sports institution. The fire was quickly extinguished by rescuers. One person died.
Let us remind you that on the night of December 16, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 31 suicide bombers, but the air defense managed to shoot down 30 drones. Drones were shot down within the Dnepropetrovsk, Kyiv, Vinnitsa, Chernigov, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkassy, Kherson, Zaporozhye, Nikolaev and Khmelnytsky regions.
In particular, the enemy attacked Kyiv in groups, waves and in different directions. This was the sixth Russian attack on the capital in December.
