Prosecutors accused him of reporting a false alarm and approving the actions of another politician who extinguished Hanukkah candles with a fire extinguisher.
In Warsaw, the police detained a Polish politician, a candidate of the nationalist Confederation for the Senate of the Republic of Poland, Jacek C., for public messages about the threat of a terrorist attack on the premises of the Polish parliament , reports Rmf24.pl. .
The spokesman of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, Szymon Banna, said that the intensive action of the district prosecutor’s office in the Warsaw-Mokotów section led to the arrest of the politician.
“Many actions were taken within a few hours, including the examination of Jacek C.’s mobile phone, which made it possible to prove that he was the author of these messages,” said Banna.
The prosecutor’s office filed two charges against the politician: regarding the report of a false alarm related to the alleged planting of an explosive in the Polish Sejm building; regarding the public’s positive assessment of the crime committed in the Seimas on December 12 of this year, when one of the members of parliament extinguished the lit Hanukkah candles with a fire extinguisher.
The prosecutor’s office imposed a preventive measure on the person in the form of police supervision, along with an obligation to report to a specific unit at the police station.
In this regard, the politician said that the messages found on his phone were not his, but someone accessed his account and posted the corresponding messages.
Let’s recall that on December 12, in the Sejm of Poland, Confederation Party deputy Grzegorz Braun extinguished a Jewish Hanukkah candlestick, installed in the hall, with a fire extinguisher.
