On the border between Sumy and Kursk regions, six Ukrainian border guards were captured. Hromadske reported this on Saturday, December 16, citing a source in the State Border Service.
Meanwhile, the governor of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, Roman Starovoyt, wrote in Telegram that the border guards had surrendered. He also posted a video of a man, presumably one of the prisoners, “giving evidence.”
He said he was not satisfied with the situation in Ukraine, especially with the mobilization process, accused officials of misuse of public funds and called for “surrender.” There are no chevrons or other identifying marks on the male uniform.
Hromadske, citing a source, reported that a sabotage and reconnaissance group from Russia was involved in capturing the border guards.
