“Why is this status so important? It will legally strengthen Ukraine in the European integration project. This is a bullet point after decades of European policy of strategic uncertainty towards Ukraine. Uncertainty that has ceased to be constructive,” Kuleba stressed.
According to the minister, just a month ago it was hard to imagine that “we will come to the point of this discussion, on the threshold of a historic decision.”
“Most in the EU understand that the status of an EU candidate for Ukraine will only bring benefits to the whole of Europe. It is a win-win for everyone. We need to overcome the next stereotypes and fears. We are actively helping to our European friends here. The decisive moment is near, ” – said Kuleba.
Recall that the heads of EU countries plan to consider an application for Ukraine’s membership at the summit in June.
