The Polish Minister of Agriculture noted that Poland could take advantage of the situation and stimulate its own processing sector thanks to cheap raw materials from Ukraine.
Poland plans to maintain the embargo on Ukrainian grain after the change of government, the country’s new Agriculture Minister Czeslaw Sekierski said in an interview with Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
“I will do everything to maintain the current embargo,” the minister said.
Sekierski believes that the opening of the European market for agricultural products from Ukraine in the future can completely destroy not only the internal Polish, but also the European market, so common market solutions should be sought between Ukraine and the European Union.
The minister also noted that Poland could take advantage of the situation and stimulate its own processing sector thanks to cheap raw materials from Ukraine.
We remind you that Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia asked Ukraine to withdraw its complaint to the World Trade Organization due to the ban on the import of agricultural products.
